Class Schedule
Winter 2018-19

$50 deposit required to register.Deposits are refundable for store credit up to a week before the class starts and are non-refundable a week before the start of class. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

There is a minimum of three students per class; classes may be cancelled for insufficient enrollment.

Beginning Stained Glass ($150)

A great way to experience stained glass! Construct a copper foil panel with patterns and glass supplied. Over the course of three weeks, you will cut glass from a pattern and solder the finished product. All patterns, materials and use of tools are included. Class meets two hours each week for three weeks. Tuition of $150 includes all materials.

Fused Panel With Borders ($150)

Combine two fun techniques is this simple and stunning project. Students will create a 5 x 7 inch fused center panel which will be surrounded by a double border using the copper foil method. All materials are included in the tuition of $150. Prior glass experience is not required. Class meets 3 consecutive weeks for two hours each week.



Beginning Fusing and Slumping ($225)

This fun and informative class provides a general overview of fusing techniques, pitfalls, and procedures. Students will create an 8-inch square dish and a 12-inch round bowl in this three-week class.  Tuition of $225 includes all materials, a text book, and kiln time.


Beginning Lead ($275)*

Lead class* 6-8pm,  Friday, January 11, 18, 25, February 1

Build a 36 x 12 inch panel with the lead came method of construction to the pattern supplied. Students will have the opportunity to resize (within reason) the pattern to accommodate personal requirements. Tuition of $275 includes a $50 glass allowance. All other materials and use of necessary tools are included. This project may require extra time to complete, depending on the student’s pace and experience. Work can be done at home or studio time can be purchased at $15/hour to work in the shop.
*Beginning Stained Glass or previous stained glass experience are required for this course.

Kiln CarvingFusing Techniques: “Kilncarving” ($75)

*6-8pm, Thursday, January 17

In this class, students will discuss and experiment with Kilncarving as discussed on Bullseye Glass’s Tip Sheet 1. “Kilncarving” is a simple process that achieves a bas relief, textured, or sculpted look in glass. The process involves cutting a pattern or design in ceramic fiber paper, then stacking glass on top of the pattern and firing the piece in a kiln. Students will create an 8in square tile with a carved design. Tuition of $75 includes all materials and kiln time.


Coral BowlCoral  Bowl Workshop ($75)

*6 – 8 , Wednesday, January 30

Reminiscent of undersea branching corals, these open weave, fused glass bowls are fun to make. Utilizing simple, easy to follow instructions, students create one of a kind vessels, suitable for bread, fruit or just admiring.  Tuition of $75 includes all materials and kiln time.


Stepping Stones  ($75)

Join award winning glass artist Shirley Anderson and get ready for spring with garden stepping stones.  Students will leave with their 8 x8 stone and a reusable form to make lots more. All materials are included on the tuition of $ 75. Class meets two weeks, two hours each week.

Fused pendantsFused Glass Pendants ($75)

*6-8pm, Thursday March 14, 21

Utilizing small pieces of tested compatible glass students will construct a plethora of glass cabochons, suitable for pendants, wire wrapping, or worry stones. Tuition of $75 includes glass, kiln time, an assortment of metal bails, and glue.


Lowcountry LighthousesCopper Foil II: Lowcountry Lighthouses / Garden Creatures ($200)

*6-8pm, Thursday, February 14, 21, 28, March 7

Students in this four week class will create a wonderful copper-foil panel of one of the Lowcountry’s beautiful lighthouses: Morris Island, Sullivan’s Island, or Hunting Island or a visitor to our Lowcountry gardens. Utilizing all the skills they learned in the Beginning Stained Glass class, this project incorporates a wide variety of cuts and is of a moderate level of difficulty. Tuition of $200 includes a $35 glass allowance. Please allow time before the first session to make your glass selection. This is NOT a beginning stained glass class, previous experience in glass cutting and copper foil construction is required. This project may require extra time to complete, depending on the student’s pace and experience. Work can be done at home or studio time can be purchased to work in the shop.

Garden Creatures

Studio Time is offered by appointment only.

Cost is $15 per hour, which includes use of shop space and tools. Please buy or bring your own glass and supplies. Studio space is not always available and is NOT a substitution for class instruction.
