Summer Hours

Memorial Day - Labor Day (May 25 - September 7)

Tuesday and Wednesday 10am - 6pm
Thursday - Saturday 10am - 3pm

Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, Blue Heron Glass is coastal Carolina’s largest supplier of sheet glass and tools for the glass hobbyist. Our extensive and ever-changing selection of Spectrum, Bullseye, Wissmach, Kokomo, Youghiogheny, Uroboros as well as other glasses are sure to challenge even the most discriminating pallet.

In the gallery you can find works from owner Mike Hiester’s continuing odyssey with kiln-formed glass as well as selections from other artists of the low-country. Filling the windows is a collection of leaded panels and glass in the traditional copper foil technique, from contemporary patterns, interpreted and constructed by Mike’s daughter, Becca.

Commissions for home, office, or place of worship are welcome. We will work with you through the process of design, fabrication, and installation.

We also offer classes in basic techniques, as well as occasional workshops using more advanced procedures. Blue Heron Glass is your one stop to immerse yourself in the world of art glass and indulge your imagination.

What's New

Playing with pattern barsMike got some new pattern bar molds for Christmas: a triangular mold and a round mold. Pattern bars are a great way to use scraps of fusable glass and also pack a graphic punch to any pice you're building!

Check back for more photos of projects as Mike and the BHG staff learn to use these molds and how to achieve different effects. There may even be a workshop in the future...

We gladly accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Please note, there is a $15 minimum purchase with debit and credit cards.
Thank you.
